Secretary of State just indicated POTUS does not represent American values

Rex Tillerson just admitted Trump does not speak for America when it comes to its values, he "speaks for himself"

Tillerson was responding to a U.N committee ICERD The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. ICERD was formed in 1969. The following early warning was issued from them

“We are alarmed by the racist demonstrations, with overtly racist slogans, chants and salutes by white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and the Ku Klux Klan, promoting white supremacy and inciting racial discrimination and hatred,” said Anastasia Crickley, chair of the committee.

Although the Cerd statement did not refer to him by name, it called on “the government of the United States of America, as well as high-level politicians and public officials, to unequivocally and unconditionally reject and condemn racist hate speech and crimes in Charlottesville and throughout the country”.

In the past 10 years, the only other countries issued with early warnings have been Burundi, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Kyrgyzstan and Nigeria.

Tillerson was asked to respond to this relating to the concern foreign leaders doubting "American values"

Tillerson responded the State Department represents "American values" and that hasn't changed. Tillerson was next asked if Trump's statement represent those values and Tillerson said "Trump represents "himself"

This is a stunning thing for a SoS to admit in public. When I find it will attach a clip of the interview.

Why do I have this feeling that any "official" response to this will be either "fake news" or "the crooked media intentionally misquoted Tillerson"?

Then you would be willing, if a congressman, to impeach.

Edit: reworked a couple of bits for better clarity.

Not sure what he'd be impeached for at this point in time and the party is in no mood to impeach him anyway because, at least at this moment, they don't seem to give a damn. He's useful and he has a pretty big stick, the pretty much absolute support of around 80% of Republican voters.

He and the Republicans have pretty much free reign to continue demolishing your country for a while yet.

If you'll pay attention to Paul Ryan it appears that he's attempting to stage himself for a possible run again the golden man child. As for Rex he was very careful not to say too much and still defended Trump along with reiterating that each federal agency was working on their behalf. I never thought that I'd wish that Dan Quayle was in office but right now.....SAD!

Pessimist. I did say coming off, not fully naked, but he's headed in the right direction.
