Has anyone ever studied or read up on these organizations?

Over the years I've heard people say that the pyramid with the eye on the back of the U.S. dollar was a symbol for something with in the Mason society. There's also the following words:

Annuit Ceptis (Coeptis)
Novus Ordo Seclorum

If you were to do a search on those terms using an internet engine you would recieve quite a few interesting results. One of the sites I encountered was this one.

I've also wondered that if a secret society was truly secret why do so many people know about the Masons and Illuminatis.

I don't have any conclusions or theories on any of these things I'm writing, but I its just some things I think about from time to time and I'm just wondering what other people think about them.

I also wonder just how powerful and far-reaching are intelligence organizations. I was watching a news program last week and they were saying how the CIA (or was it the FBI) records every phone conversation that takes place. Basically a news anchor was asking a Bureua director if that kind of thing was possible and he replied that every phone call is recorded and can be reviewed.
I was basically shocked when I heard that, it makes you wonder what else do they monitor

I have been to the Masonic Temple, in Detroit, which was a building built by the masons, and it is amazing. The whoel building is one giant piece of artwork.

Call them Freemasons.. That is the appropriate name and it will help you know for what they stand for. Freemasons are NOT a secret society, 100 years ago when their beliefs were punishible by death they were secret, not anymore. Freemasons believe in FREEDOM and that ability to make up your own mind, not to be told by a King or other ruler what to think. I would join if they didn't require a belief in a higher power (not religion specific). The Freemasons are believed to have orginated from the Knights Templar when they were disbanded by Pope Innocent the IV at the behest of the King of France. It should be noted that the disbanding of the knights started the Inquisition and it's believed many of them fled to england. (which may have resulted in the anglican split from Catholicism).

To everyone interested in secret organisations I recommend reading the book "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco.

<<The eye on the dollar is supposed to be for the Illuminati not the Masons. >>

The "Illuminati" was a term coined by a Russian author attributing a worldwide consipiricy of political and economic control to the Jews. He blamed this "secret society" for all the Pre-WWII problems. His book was anti-semite to the core.

Investigate the eye orgin with more reputable sources and you might find where it really came from.

I would venture a guess to say that 60+% of our founding fathers were members of the freemasons.

My boss at work is a Freemason. COnsidering the town I live in, and the men who are masons here, I dont think I'd join them if they paid me to.
Bunch of toothless rednecks!
