maybe these are the codes they will use when they are in great danger..kinda like the fake passcode you give your alarm company if there is a gun pointing to your head.

Agreed. I think it's a cutesy thing they did just for the press. I doubt it's their actual code names.

They probably are the code names. They don't need real ones- The radios are digital and encrypted.
