I was playing with my Nokia, and noticed that one of the text-message received tones sounded like it might be morse code. Well, a little thinking soon revealed that it said 'SMS'. Considering that the official name for text-messaging is the Short Message Service, this seems a remarkable coincidence. Or maybe not...
I then turned my attention to another one of the ring tones - this one called 'ascending' (because it starts quiet and then gets progressively louder). Well, after a lot of listening over and over again, and getting no further, rather than admit defeat, I thought I'd cheat. Hooked up a mic to my comp and loaded up a wave editing program. Recorded the tone and was able to read the message directly off the screen.
What did it say? Well, now that I've told you that this was a Nokia phone, I suppose you shouldn't be surprised that it was 'CONNECTING PEOPLE'.
