Neither are necessary nor do they work with W2K or ME.

A super hardware solution is a duplicate HDD. Beats the other stuff hands down.

That really gets nice with them in mobile rack mounts with key switches in front. You can boot to either by just turning one off and the other on.

I was looking for something on the line of "secondchance is better b/c it allows you to dual boot." so does anyone know if the new version of goback still lets you have mulitple partitions/os's on one hard drive?

This doesn't answer your question at all, but just using a second partition and manually backing up your C: drive whenever is probably best, and cheapest :)
