Secondary TFTP?

Hey everyone...

Does anyone know how/if you can set up a secondary TFTP using a server IP on a DHCP scope in Windows? Here's the deal... our TCOM group is rolling out some Cisco IP phones and they have several scopes they need added to our DHCP servers. I've set up all of the scopes, and the phones are working, along with the primary server IP for the TFTP setting. Thing is, the TCOM team says they have a secondary TFTP server that needs to be added. Is this possible, or is this something they should actually be setting up on the CISCO equipment.

Thanks for any help!

should be able to do it, option 150 I believe.

And it is absoluetely necessary to have two TFTP servers in a IPTelephoney deoployment.

Anybody who just uses one should be shot or at the least fired.

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, option 150 is where I have the primary TFTP server specified. Is there some other option to specify a secondary? Option 150 only allows for one IP.

thats very unusual for microsoft.

LOL! yeah, that would really be surprising... 🙂

It's a Windows 2000 server.

Well, figured out the solution... basically, if you need to use more than one TFTP server you have to create a new option. Go to the DHCP server and choose the set predefined options item. If the option 150 already exists (I believe it does by default) then delete it, add a new one, and make sure you check the array box. After that, you have the ability to enter multiple TFTP servers on a scope.
