Secondary phone suggestions?

I'm looking to get a backup phone for me to have so I don't have to bring my Nexus5 with me when travelling, skiing, camping, etc. LTE is nice, but not needed. Max price I'm willing to pay is ~$200. I'll probably just be throwing CM onto whatever device I get (TouchWiz can go to hell).

I've got rewards credit with my present carrier that would let me get a Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini for $160 after taxes. Other options I've entertained are to get a Moto G, but I'd have to order that from the US and pick it up.

Second hand phones are also an option if someone has another good suggestion.

is your carrier t-mobile? (was going to point out t-mobile branded devices just for wifi calling feature, though loading CM would negate that)

probably non-US, based on your comment about ordering from US to ship somewhere else

// I wanted a waterproof/resistant phone to complement my nexus 5 when I go skiing / sports...

backed the omate truesmart kickstarter (water resistant smartwatch with 3G connection)

too bad they have problems with FCC approval / timeline management, hopefully I get the device soon (was promised Oct 13, now saying Feb 14)

Yep, $50-$60 lumia 520. Also doubles as a decent GPS if you need that. Incredible little phone for the money.

For clarity, I'm not looking to sign another contract, so contract discounts are out of the picture.

Most used Nokia 520's that I can find here are selling for $120+. I'm a little wary of buying an AT&T model and having it shipped to Canada since I'm not familiar with the unlock process for Windows phones. I think that I'd rather stick with Android as well, since contacts and settings will automatically be synced between my devices.
