Second monitor is fuzzy with 9700 Pro

I added a second monitor to my 9700pro and it is fuzzy. I have a DVI to VGA converter plugged into the second port on the ati. Is this conversion likely causing the problem??? Text has a shadow to it and its not very clear. I've swapped the monitors and the shadows always follow the coverted plug. Can anyone help?

You should try a different DVI-VGA adapter first. If that doesn't work, then indeed the card might have bad analog signal quality on the DVI plug. I've seen that happen, rarely though, and I've managed to get the maker's support to tell me a simple rework on the card that fixed it.

What manufacturer is the card?

ya sometimes you can wind up with a bunk converter.

took me 3 converters to solve the fuzzyness on my second monitor.

Hey you guys are great!!! I bought a cheap one from ebay and had shadows. The Belkin (made of gold it seems = $30) from compusa is working great. THANKS AGAIN!!!
