Second HDD seen in BIOS and Device Manager but not useable?

I have an Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3 (i5) and bought a Hitachi Coolspin 5K3000 HDD for more storage space. Bios sees it and so does the Device manager. I dont see it in the Computer section that shows all the drives and connected storage though.

Someone suggested changing IDE mode to AHCI mode in BIOS but that didnt help. I only found one other person with the issue but he has an AMD motherboard. I tried switching SATA cables and connections on the motherboard. I have the main HDD in the first slot and tried a couple others but to no avail. There are two pins on the back of the HDD but there was no jumper that came with the drive.

Thanks for any help!

Matt

Does any have any ideas? Have I missed something easy?

And, has the drive been assiogned a non-conflicting drive letter> (Ctrl Panel, Admin Tools, Computer Mgt, Disk Mgt.)

Have you already initialized the drive in Disk Management?

Thanks! I didnt even know about this part. This was my first secondary HHD instal ever. I knew it was something silly. i went through the set up and it was working in a couple of minutes.

The only documentation that came with it was a sheet of paper basically thanking me for buying it and a diagram for cable connection.

Thanks for your help!
