second hd install in win xp help!

I just installed a second hard drive in my computer. How do i format it through windows xp? it says it installed new hardware, and it is shown in the hardware profile. but i cant see the drive.

any help is appreciated

control panel >
performance and maintenence >
administrative tools >
computer managment >
disk managment >

It should be shown there...It may need to be initialized...right click on drive and click disk intialize...
