Second day spending hours at a coffee shop online

I typically study at a coffee shop near me for about 3-6 hours a day. I don't bring my computer though, because it would be a distraction.

Theres this nutty guy that looks homeless throwing his arms around talking to himself. I guess as long as he doesn't try to come over and pick me It's all good.

The internet is free. I'm a Film major and I've got some connections through my parents.. so hopefully I wont be headed down that path.

Connections are the key. One of my favorite students that I had in high school just graduated from college... she's going to pursue a career as a singer. She's got an incredible voice. As I discussed with her the other night, talent is only a small fraction of success - being in the right place at the right time, and who you know are often more important in that line of business. One of our top students has been accepted to one of the top Ivy League schools; he's going to major in... singing??? It's hard to see someone with as much potential as he has choosing a field where his likelihood of success is so slim. (I wish him the best of luck though.)

Whoa...lucky....free internet.

I wouldn't even be at home with an internet connection then 😉

Here in Evanston (Northwestern town) I can think of three places within two blocks of my condo that offer free wireless (Burger King, Starbucks, and some other cafe). 😛
