Carl Edward Roland, 41, made the announcement in Fulton County Superior Court during a hearing to discuss his return to Pinellas County, Fla., where he is charged with strangling Jennifer Gonzalez. The 36-year-old Gonzalez's body was found in a pond behind her apartment May 24, the day before Roland began a three-day standoff by climbing the crane.

Roland's Tuesday hearing came hours after a second man briefly scaled a construction crane in the same section of Atlanta.

Thomas Eugene Robinson, 26, scaled the crane Monday, authorities said. However, early Tuesday morning Robinson "was lured down with doughnuts and cigarettes," police spokeswoman Marion Lee said.

I'd come down for doughnuts and cigarettes.....wouldn't you?

If it weren't for the cigarettes, it would be safe to call that guy a real life Homer Simpson.
