It is too bad these people don't understand what incredible harm they do to the cause of preventing senseless cruelty to animals. They do nothing but alienate and scare people that would otherwise support commonsense laws regarding abuse and cruelty to animals to believe that all people working on behalf of animals support such extreme views.

Yes they are slaves by definition. So that gives us three options. Pay them, free them, or do nothing. An orca has no use for money, thus first option is out. Freeing them is a valid choice, but the benefit in the form of jobs and entertainment far outweighs a sub human intelligent animals need for freedom. The final choice is the best inregards to sea world. My understanding is that sea world is held to very high standards in their treatment of their animals.

Peta should fight other battles such as where animals are actually being mistreated, not a positive organization like sea world.

PETA has chosen to ignore your post.

Can't someone at the federal level simply show where PETA has helped support terroristic organizations (they have) & get rid of them?

The problem is the people in that level of the government only care about getting campaign contributions, and PETA gives heavily to liberal sources.

Motion to dismiss your honor, a killer whale is not a human being, nor a citizen of the united States, thus not given any rights whatsoever under the consititution. It is perfectly legal to enslave killer whales and use them for profit.

Umm... I believe the argument was that they were "inalienable" rights or something. Don't quote me The Declaration of Independence uses both inalienable and unalienable. ;) My interpretation of "inalienable" that is that they are basic rights and apply regardless of citizenship or government-granted rights. My interpretation is also, that they are basic HUMAN rights but, obviously, they beg to differ.

dude i loved the time i spent as a killer whale at sea world. i had all the food i could eat, only worked 4 hours a day, got to sit around and watch judge judy and DS9 reruns, chatted with the totally hot trainers at the gym or the water cooler, and none of the worry of migrating for breeding, fighting off predators or fighting for food. it was awesome. now i work a desk job, commute 1.5 hrs each direction and have to stand in line at whole foods to get my krill. but, hey, i guess the right to vote was worth it. go me!

Keyboard cat for president! Nyan cat for vice president! 2012 HOPE

Hmm, not sure if I want a cat that only pushes buttons as a president as that big old red button over there will be to tempting to push.
