Because today it's been proven that bystanders are more likely to video/take pictures of a crime (even violent) in progress than to call 911.
It's sad times we live in if anyone remotely thinks we are a society.
I call the police a lot and get involved in crap a lot.
I have been told by a dispatcher even once "why do you care" in regards to a domestic fight taking place during my dog walk.
It's fucked up.
Few years back I helped a girl out of her car after an accident. The cops came a few minutes later and I flagged them down. They arrived fast too! The officer said that someone called in reporting a guy threatening the accident victim. I soon realized they were referring to me (helping her out). There had to be at least 6 other people out there and they just stood and watched.
Then I hear stories saying that you shouldn't try to help because if you cause any further harm to the victim, they can sue you. I always thought the Good Samaritan Act would prevent that?
