Ok guys, here's a curve ball for ya. Where is the best bricks and mortar place to find GREAT computer seats? CompUSA, best buy, Circuit city, office max are the only ones that pop into my head that would seem like a decent seat could be found.

Input appreciated!

Well you could try a real furniture store for some higher quality stuff, thought it might be more expensive. What exactly are you looking for.

Here's a curve ball for you, craigslist

Found a damn nice HON computer chair for $30 I think it was. This is a good way to go if you don't need one right away.

Staples also often has an ok selection. Without a price range its difficult to make suggestions.

Check the HermanMiller catalog if you have a REALLY thick wallet... (Don't go there if you aren't flush as somehow the plastic will appear in your hand and... you'll have spent more than you could imagine on something to sit on.)

Getting real now, a trip to Staples (holy crap, even Staples has $1000. chairs now) or OD can net you something decent and you'll still have some room left on your plastic..

I prefer breathable mesh sitting surfaces for long sessions. Leather may be OK if you won't be spending long sessions in it all the time.

BestBuy has the Octane for $140, which looks pretty cool.

Do not get a $50 chair from Staples. The seat cushion won't last a year. I'm gonna end up replacing the foam on my seat with a higher density, thicker foam.

Hey ebeattie,

Looks like the casters are for hard floors only so budget for a carpet mat if you have carpeting.

Well just wanted to let everyone know that I got the Octane from AK. Pretty nice chair. very adjustable, easy assembly and its comfortable.

Perhaps if there is enough interest, the mods could at a sticky somewhere for chairs, desks or any type of furniture item that computer users need.

Thanks again for the recommendations.
