SeaSonic X750 w/ 2x Titan

here are total system power consumption numbers for a single titan at load playing BF3. This was with a i7-3960X, a 130w CPU. Titan's TDP is 250w, so you can add 250w to the figure below to give you a good idea of the kind of psu you'll need. Should be ok, but it's cutting it close man, I'd jump up to an 850w unit if I were you

Suggest you buy a XFX KM3 850W for much cheaper and forget about it. XFX 750, 850 & 1000W are KM3 - Same as Seasonic and Corsair.

The XFX 850W KM3 are $120 on Sale and Delivered from NCIX.

The 750W XFX KM3 about $100 on Sale.

I think it will be fine, but your stressing your PSU quite a bit. Long term I'd look for a 850w unit.

XFX 850w units are great.

If you can afford two titans then there is no reason not to buy a pus which can handle everything heavily overvolted if required. Id say get a 1000 watts seasonic and chillax.

Consensus definitely isn't a 1K PSU. Only one person has recommended it. Three people have recommended 850W.

Im thinking whether to get even more power now actually, there's a high possibility I might get 4 cards and I want to put them all in one system... I suppose that means I would need a 1250W? I can't find a seasonic for that power on newegg.com ... what would you recommend?

If you could afford 4 Titans, you can definitely afford a higher wattage PSU. With 4 Titans and a Core i7 3770, there would definitely be a CPU bottleneck. I recommend sticking with the original 2 way SLI. As for the 2 way SLI, don't risk it and go for the 850W.

I am getting the Titans for free.. the rest of the system is still out of pocket =\

Since it's a Seasonic X750, I would imagine you'd be fine.

Before the recent range of Seasonic platinums came along, the X-series was the cream of PSUs. I'm sure they're capable of reliably delivering their rated wattage and then some.

I find out my lab is using supermicro 1800W PSUs, however they are not ATX format but some custom server format?

I am surprised to see the highest rated seasonic is only 1250W...

Is it a good idea to invest in a 4U chasis + PSU??? That should last me a lifetime? But I guess power supply formats change as well...
