Damn nice deal. I would be all over this if I didn't already have an HX750 Gold collecting dust in my closet. :)

I had an alert setup for this PSU for $110. I ordered it within 5 minutes of seeing the final price. I did not expect it to drop this far! Even before the MIR it's a pretty good deal. Seasonic makes some of the best PSU's and this is one of their best models. 660watts will run just about any setup you throw at it and by being platinum rated means that it runs very quietly.

Very tempting... the only points it got deducted on JG's review of the unit was the price but that was at almost twice the price of what this is available for right now so I think it's safe to assume that score can be adjusted to a 10 :p

Hot. Last year around May, they did a similar promo for their X650; the X650 soon "disappeared form the shelves" a few month later. Perhaps this is in lieu of them releasing the successor to this series in the near future.

The deal is worth another bump. Anyone looking at a new 4790k build in the next 3 months should seriously consider getting in on this deal.

Here's the link to JG's review: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=326. As you mentioned, it's 10s all around except for value, but that was considering a $150 price.

And here is HardOCP's review: www.hardocp.com/article/2013/02/04/seasonic_platinum660_660w_power_supply_review/. They also consider it to be one of the best PSUs available.

Pretty much the best power supply in existence, nothing bottom of the barrel about it.

I have been wondering about that. Seasonic has been running a sale like this a month on some of their PSUs which leads me to think there might be a new line coming out

Must...not...buy...

Thats what I did in Feb and then regretted it when I missed out :)

I like how it went out of stock just long enough for the coupon code to expire.

Gotta love NewEgg...

I'm in, I have owned a lot of supposedly seasonic power supplies but this is the first one that actually has the name on it. All have been trouble free.

I would never buy a PSU from a brand that isn't Seasonic. I've never had any power issues, or any hardware randomly crap out on me, i attribute that to a good power supply providing steady voltages.

It might be a while, but it'll be back around.

The 760W version goes on sale for $100AR every now and then as well.

Seasonic guts are in lots of other PSUs as well...

yep. I got my sister an antec model a few years back that was known to be made from seasonic. runs like a champ.

Just installed this thing in my rig yesterday and smooth sailing. Dunno if it's just a cooler day today, but it runs noticably cooler than my 10 yr old S12-600.

I have two rigs with these SS-600XP's and my HTPC is still chugging along with a S12-430 from 2006ish. I had a S12-600 that I retired for one of these platinum ones. Maybe i'll hand it down to someone in my family who needs it one day.

From my looking around it is one of the coolest running PSUs in the price range\wattage range you can get which is one of the reasons I got it.

I did actually find a flaw but just a tiny one for me - the Mobo cable isn't quite as long as I would like for my P180 case given the routing I need to do because of my GPU and it pulls down on the mobo a bit. I highly doubt it will be a problem but the Antec NeoHE 620 I replaced had a longer one that was easier to deal with

anyone else's unit making a slight buzzing sound? My unit is in a Node 304 Mini ITX case placed on my desk so it's almost ear level. When the room is quiet and i'm using the computer I'll hear this buzzing sound that isn't louder than my fans but it stands out.

I've turned off all other fans and hard drives and have narrowed it to the PSU. Just wanted to see if a slight buzzing is normal otherwise I'll try to get an exchange and go from there.
