SeaSonic S12-600 600W Power Supply

That's one of the best psu's out there for that price...better to have a beefy, albeit expensive psu than waste money, buy a junk psu, and have problems.

I got one awhile ago for about the same price. My only complaint is I have more hard drives then this power supply can support (as in not enough power connections) 🙁

Does anyone here have this power supply? I was thinking about buying one a few days ago but after seeing some of the user complaints at Newegg, I figured that I would look for a different power supply.

I think this is a pretty hot deal, I paid about the same for my 520 watt OCZ, and these are supposed to be better.

What ever, you can get an enermax/zipppy psu that will power the most powerful SLI system for cheaper. Do your research, Seasonic doesnt make the most efficient NOR the psu with the most stable voltages. I've looked on websites that compares 10+ so psus. Enermax, Zippy owns pretty much across the board from noise, temps, volts and efficiency. Doesnt surprise me since they make server psus that can cost a lot more. Who is to say a cheap psu is a good idea? Your just putting words into my mouth because you want to justify your 130 dollars on a "super" psu. A PSU that costs under 100 dollars would suffice.

Ok man you REALLY don't get the point. Everyone has their opinions on whats good or whats not good. $129 seems like a really good price for this particular psu whether you should pay over $100 pus is debatable i agree. Just like i think its crazy to pay the money for a raptor with the GB per dollar you get out of them but i wouldn't crap on a thread for a deal for them.

Link ?

Edit : Nevermind, in your other power supply thread you tell me everything I need to know.

looks better and is cheaper than antec....read reviews about it, extremely stable voltage, very little ripple. Im using it on this PC running winnie 3000, msi neo 4 sli platnium, enermax fan controler plus several fans, 6600gt, 74 giger raptor, + 2nd hard drive + wireless adapter. Unlike other PSUs, that tell you vaguely what it can really output continously, this one tells you straight up just by looking at the side panel that tells you the amps.

Well here is a review of your power supply choking under full load.. Actually, this is the 550 so its the model up from yours which makes things look even worse.

The well-known manufacturer Cooler Master recently started offering PSUs. The fact that these products are not yet fully developed was evidenced by our test under full load: The device switched off after a few hours in operation, delivering a repeat performance even after we restarted it. We could not locate any defects on the power supply unit. Due to the abbreviated operating time, we were unable to provide any measurement data. Cooler Master should size the unit better so that it will shut off later in event of an overload.

That my friend is why you pay a little extra for a quality supply.

well if those ebay coupons are still working you can try to get these through ebay. i used a $15 off 100 to get the s12-600w for $122 shipped. the seller was actually through ewiz. i actually see that seller still has 4 more left.

Oh ya and here is a comparable enermax unit. Hmm interesting how it cost more?

I do own this PSU and it powers my Dual Opteron setup (that I got at the AMD/MS show) I spent around $140 shipped from ewiz after tax an stuff. So far I am very pleased.

This is one of the few PSU's recommended for SLI. I don't know that the cables need to be sleeved... they are twisted very tightly already (unlike any other psu I own)

As for the threadcrapper....... Learn your %(*@&% before you open your mouth...
pfft.. forum newbie...

I just couldn't pass this up.

At the expense of being laughed by other members I'll say: dude, you are so totally wrong.
1.S12-600 is one of the most efficient PSUs ever, silentpcreview tested it out as 87% percent efficient at 200-300Watt load. No other PSU save for antec fanless series can top that efficiency over such a broad load range.
2.I've owned quite a few of the Enermax'es including noisetakers you so love and while they are great PSUs, they are not as efficient, nor quiet nor do provide a better voltage than S12-600 I currenly own. Enermax PSUs typically top out at 82% efficiency while Seasonic gets 87%. Enermax PSUs also have higher than normal voltage for me, typically 12.20V on 12V line and 5.10V on 5V. S12-600 on the other hand provides almost exact voltages. I verified it via both motherboard monitoring and my voltmeter. You are also wrong that enermax PSUs are quiter than seasonics. S12-600 is definitely quiter than Enermax noisetaker series and they do not have that annoying click/motor rumble that so many enermax PSUs develop over time.
3.As for price, you are wrong here too. If you look for example at 600W Enermax Liberty, it costs $148 at newegg plus shipping so the price is absolutely the same. So by going with enermax you get less for the same amount of money.

Don't take me wrong, I also loved Enermax PSUs, in fact that was the only brand I bought for many years. But after having several defective PSUs and relatively poor noise/efficiency performance relative to seasonic I've decided to switch and I dont' regret it.

The only point I agree with you is that true, you don't need a $130 PSUs to power your PC, a 430W PSU that cost $70-80 will suffice. Otherwise, get your information straight.

BTW you can get this PSU for cheaper if you buy from ewiz through their ebay store and no pesky rebate. That is how I bought mine. They sell it for 102+25S&H. This still comes out cheaper than newegg and like I said no rebate to deal with. Combine this with new 10% off ebay/paypal coupon and you got yourself even sweeter deal. The only caveat is that ewiz ebay store does not replace PSUs if you receive a defective one, you'll have to exchange it through the manufacturer.

Can anyone PM me with what the ewiz store is? I'm interested in picking one of these up. Swapping directly with Seasonic wouldn't be an issue I don't think.

Just search for "seasonic" on ebay. They are sold for 102 + 25S&H from seller named mp3superstore, but the paypal name is ewiz and the packing slip has ewiz name on it. Oh and yeah, they require immediate payment by paypal.
