Seasonic S12 380w with a X1950pro?

Yes but 380w but that is only because cheap PSUs which give you less W than number on them - for example instead of 400w its only 330w.

Apparantly this card only draws 50W or so from the 12V rail. So you're fine. Saying that a 300W PSU can handle it is a strong statement, as most 300W PSUs put half the load on 3.3 & 5V rails, and the other half on the 12V rail. 75W for CPU + 50W for GPU, add in other componants and you're in trouble.

I once had system with a 103W Prescott, 55W 9800 Pro, 1GB RAM, 2 hard drives, 2 high amperage case fans and it ran with no problems on a 300W HEC PSU that has only 15A on the +12V rail. Quality 300W PSUs can take a lot of beating, much to the surprise of many people.

Right, and 15A is a very decent amount of 12v power for a 300 watt PSU.

I recently pulled a 6 month old POS Raidmax 420 watt PSU with 13A on the 12 rail, sad indeed. The PSU was replaced with a 330 watt S12 with far more 12v power and the flimsy Raidmax case with a nice solid AL Coolermaster PAC-T01.

Companies like Raidmax should cut out the middle man (consumers) and sell their crap directly to the land fills.

actually I like the raidmax smildjon... looks good and has a lot of cooling options. It is the only raidmax i'd ever consider though...
