Seasonic M12 700w

I can pick one up for 100 euro's. Thats a pretty darn good price for a modular 700w PSU. Other option is Cooler Master Silent Pro M700 for the same price.

The Seasonic is said to be fairly quiet, judging by silentpcreview's review. The 60mm-fan won't shut off once it's turned on though. The CM Silent Pro 500-600W got a favorable review from Anandtech, but since it's european only thats all I could really find on it.

I'm looking for modular and quiet. Cables HAVE to be long enough to support a p182, where the PSU is in the bottom, and I want to route my cables behind the back.

I could spend 115 euro's on a Zalman ZM750-HP, but don't know how it compares to the very silent ZM1000-HP silentpc reviewed.

In case anyone wants to have a look, here's a list of all modular psu's I can buy: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch...t=asc&orderSpecId=1105

Oklahoma Wolf did a review of the Silent Pro 600W over at Jonnyguru.com..

it is actually not Europe only anymore, either they cut a deal with Ultra to sell modular in North America, or they just said to hell with the patent.

Link to newegg proof they are in North America

As for the Zalman HP-750 PC perspective seems to think that it is made by Seasonic, but I am nearly 100% sure they are wrong and it is actually made by FSP on the Epsilon platform which means "meh" performance to me.

I'm guessing there are two indicators for the performance of any given model in a manufacturer's product-line: comparison benchtest reviews involving the model of interest; and comparison reviews of other similar products in that model-line from the same manufacturer.

I've got a 650HT and a 700 M12 by Seasonic. TechReport's comparison reviews among 10 or more manufacturers and models made me a Seasonic fan.

So far, they've given rock-solid service. They are "80-plus" efficient, and never even feel warm to the touch when stress-testing an over-clocked system. I wouldn't worry about the fan. Of course, with channeled airflow within your case, you could make the fan's usefulness completely vestigial.
