Seasonic 650W + GTX 590?

I have a Seasonic PSU rated at 650W. It is a couple of years old, but I haven't put it under too much load. I have a Conroe build (dual core), with an 8800 GTX.

I am in the process of prepping for Ivy Bridge, starting with the video card first. I am thinking about buying a GTX 590, but am not sure of my current PSU. I know Seasonic PSUs are pretty solid, so would prefer to avoid spending extra monies on a new PSU.

I won't be overclocking either my processor or the new video card. Most GTX 590s suggest a 700W PSU. Do you think I should be OK with my current PSU, or should spend the extra money to be on the safe side?

Thanks!

My suggestion, avoid the 590

BOT,

I would be more comfortable with a 750w. My hunch is your PSU will run it fine but your cutting it close.

I second that...both points actually. To invest 500+ bucks for a graphics card now is not optimal as the new generation is just behind the corner (well at least AMD, with Nvidia who knows if they are late to the party again). Then you could also continue using your current power supply.
650W is cutting it a bit close, that's true.

Thanks for the input, guys. I just made the post without researching the timeline of the new 28nm chips. Now that I have looked into it, I may actually wait it out for a couple of extra months.
