I was thinking about applying at a dell mall kiosk or B&N cafe or something for the holidays to score some extra cash. Is it worth it? Any suggestions for employers?

Generally not. It's going to be a crash course in training, long hours, and crappy customers. Most malls should be staffed up at this point anyway, so it'd be hard to find someplace. (I'm the assistant manager of a gamestore in the mall, trust me)

it would never be worth it to me to deal with bitchy holiday shoppers and all the crap that those in retail have to deal with this time of the year.
I salute those in retail from now til jan 5 especially.

I work part time in addition to my 8-5...and i love it. i get a great discount, and come nov 14, i get 40% off (normally 33%), so, all my xmas shopping will be done. plus you get to meet some cool people, and off usual 8-5ers

I worked at a school district last summer doing maintenance work. The paycheck was worth it. the hours sucked though.
But I was working outside with 3 good friends, so that made things ALOT easier.

If I was working in a mall, I would hope they wouldn't mind if I came in blazed on a few choice substances.

Um, if you want the extra cash and you have that kind of time to kill, then do it.
