I couldnt find out when The shield was gonna start up again. if any of you know i will update the post.
After watching the season finale pt 2 (again+) on Monday this week, they promo'd season 2 as coming in 2003, that's all I've heard so far. I hope they aren't going to wait until March again.

I'm pretty sure they ARE waiting until next March, but it could be January.
Yep, looks like January (saw new promo), no actual date given.

i think im gonna upgrade my replay.

Cool I need to do that also. I picked up a WD 120GB (5400rpm) for $99 after $30 MIR @ CC last week when they were on sale.

I wonder how easy or difficult it is?

Which model ReplayTV do you have? I have one of the originals ReplayTV 3060 (30 hour).

i was thinking about getting a 120 from replaytivoplus.com they sell the drives ready to go, all you have to do is swap the drives , they even disable the macrovision. they charge a $50 premium for the drive so it costs $190 for a 120 GB maxtor drive.

putting on the software is kind of a hassle and i dont want to chance fvckin up my replay right before all the season premiers.

<obvious flamebait> How? By getting a TiVo? ;) </obvious flamebait>

Harharhar :D

TIVO sucks.

Not really.

I've owned both. I got that 30-Hour Panasonic Showstopper that was in your sig a few weeks back and so far I find the interface a lot less intuitive and the features more limited.

But for the most part, it gets the job done which is what really matters to me. I don't even own a VCR anymore. :D

Edit:
I've heard that the new Replay 45xx series are much nicer and easier to use, but they are still pretty expensive and the only real edge they had on TiVo is gone because you have to pay an additional fee now, either monthly or a one-time.

you think its more intuitve but thats only cause youre dumb. if you were smart like rossman and I you would appreciate the more flexible and powerful interface of replay vs the thumbs up/down interface of tivo.

The thumbs up/thumbs down interface has nothing to do with setting up the shows you want to record. It's used for TiVo Suggestions which are just shows that it records that you might like, which is easily turned off.

As far as setting up your TiVo to record the shows that you definitely want there are several options available to you:

Season Passes: Allows you to get every episode of a show, regardless of time or channel and can be filtered to not record reruns.
Wishlists: You can tell the TiVo to record a certain program, or programs with a certain theme or actor or director or keyword, etc.
Record by Time or Channel: Pretty Self Explanatory

as well as several others. Have you ever actually used a TiVo?

Themes do the same thing as season passes, they can be keyed off of title, actor, genre, director etc.

yeah ive played with one for a while in the store a while back, i prefer my replay interface.
