I bought these awhile back and they need to be replaced. The shocks are on the car, and I have the boxes they came in which clearly say "lifetime guarantee" -- yet they won't honor the replacement without the receipt.

What the hell is wrong with these people. :disgust:

Try going higher up the management ladder to get your shocks replaced. I'm assuming that the shocks say "Sears" on them someplace. You don't need a receipt to get a Craftsman tool replaced, so why should you need a receipt to get a Sears shock with lifetime warranty replaced?

If that doesn't work, tell them that you are going to all the local TV stations to expose them for fraud.

if it says lifetime warranty, then reciept or no, they should honor it. You prob talked to some cashier that just goes by what he/she is told. Customer must have a reciept to return, lawn mowers, chainsaws, TV's and such, so they think it applies to everything.

1: Forget about lifetime warranty...they only want you to come back because they'll charge you to install the new shocks and while they have your car on the lift, they'll find a bunch of other work to do. Same applies with Lifetime Mufflers whcih ususally last less than OEM.
2: Ususally they wll only honour the warranty if they install the merchandise hence the need for a bill....give it a try up the corporate ladder though..you might get lucky.
