I'm posting this to bring it to the mod's attention

The search works again, the "Your search contained ignored words, ignored words are words like a,and,to,between. Please re-construct your search without these ignored words." error doesn't come up anymore

but when searching archived messages, no results are found

Please we need the archived messages, there's a huge amount of information in all those archived threads

Hopefully this gets fixed soon

Doesn't work for me. They're probably still working on things. Give them time.

Search for "Seagate" in Hot Deals archived - no results. "Maxtor" brings up 4 threads from the year 2000 and "Western Digital" brings up a total of 2 threads from 2000. Somehow I believe we've talked about WD drives more than twice in the last 6 years. :)

The search indexes definitely have problems. Could AT rebuild them? Might take some downtime but I think its necessary.

Guys, we've posted about this already :)

The indexes are rebuilding, they take DAYS to rebuild, we're talking 20 million messages.... Messages, Privates Messages are almost done. The archives (18 million) will take 3 days.

Can we get an update, guys? It's been 12 days and the archive search still doesn't work properly(it only shows results from the year 2000). TIA

Thanks!
I was trying to find a very important old post of mine regarding a recipe for grilled portabello mushrooms. ;)

Full text indexes suck to rebuild. Last one I did was on a 8000 char field with 60 odd million records and it took 6 days. Ick.

I can't find an archived thread in Off Topic containing a post by Fleshlight with either "Netgear" or "router" - I get "no results."

Search is completely borked for me. I was searching for a lite-on DVD burner to buy and couldn't search for one. So I had to make yet another WTB thread. :(

Yep. I can't find anything I want to find in the archives. Can we get an indexing?

An initial estimate of 3 days? Now it's 3 days from being a month and still no way to search the archives?
