Does anyone know what kinds of criteria google takes into effect when listing sites? How does a site with worse information get listed on google 5th and another site with more stuff is listed like 200th?

Sites that get linked to more often and clicked on the most get ranked higher.

the more people that link to your site the higher you'll be placed, also, the more times you get clicked through the engine, i beleive you get ranked higher as well. having meta tags and keywords is always a smart thing too

I was wondering because we have a company and our product is better than our partner company but our partner company does 100x more sales than we do and I've decided that it's because they're on the first page of google and we're on the 200th or something. It's not something that people would link to very often because it's a new market and we're a product company...
