search bar installed inadvertently

I installed bit torrent last night and with it a search bar got installed. So I installed bit torrent thinking it might get rid of this search bar, but it did not remove itself.

I ran spybot, but it didn't do anything to that.

any help please.

I had that after i installed MessengerPlus. I unchecked all the spyware/options crap, but it still got there after I installed it

I couldn't find any way to get rid of it, Spybot/AdAware didn't touch it.

In the end the only thing that got rid of it was a format/reinstall of Winblows

have you updated your spybot detection rules?
run ad aware in conjunction with spybot?

Make sure your version of adaware is 6 181 with the latest defs. The "live update" feature will not update you to 181 from and older version (even if you already have version 6 xxx). You have to re-download it. Once I did it eliminated all the "mywebsearch" toolbar sh!t that installed itself with some of my daughters stuff.

Weird how AdAware 6.181 (which, yes, i had) worked for you but not for me

Oh well, i needed to format/reinstall anyway on mine...
