Seagate TapeStor Travan 8GB

Can someone explain to me what this is good for? I just picked one up at Target today for $4.06 and have no clue what it's for. I did check Pricewatch and saw the lowest price listed was $157.

I picked it up at Target just sitting on a shelf in the stationary dept. I know alot of Target's are resetting alot of dept and mark different items down dirt cheap but they usually offer the items to the employees first (I saw employees with TV's for $10, stereos for $7, etc). I'm assuming whoever it was offered to changed their mind and just stuck it on a shelf.

I still have no clue what it's used for. I only bought it because I saw the name Seagate.
