They also have the 250 Gb for $129 with free shipping. Slightly better $/GB also with NCQ and five year warranty.

250GB

I posted this under the Maxtor 250GB deal under my wifes account.

Ordered one thurs morning (4/21) for $89 + free shipping and I received it Friday! But then again, I'm in So Cal and they're located around Oakland (~550 mi.) Great price compared to NewEgg which is $106 shipped IIRC.

OEM, you just get the drive in the anti-static envelope. Not sure if they come in any type of protective clamshell or not.

Its comes wrapped in an anti-static bag, protected by a thick foam enclosure (about 1.5 inches thick), and then kept in place by bags of air in the box.

No cables, instructions are on the drive.

Would this drive be a good choice if one wants one that runs cool temp-wise (or would a Samsung be better)? I have a Shuttle and I'd like to replace my WD drive with something cooler.

That's why it make sense to use only 1 hd instead of 2, or even 4
2 5400 rpm hd is like 1 100,000 hd :D
7200 is like 1 and 1/3 of 5400
How come they don't make 3600 rpm hd anymore? connor use to make these, their really cooler running no matter what. faster spin is not always faster.
if the data are very tightly packed performance on 120gb 3600 is same as 60gb 7200rpm
Or 250gb 3600rpm is same as 120gb 7200
Not to mention quieter :) and less hum...
