ST3500320AS Drive model, bought in FS/FT off HardForum, arrived clicking, I don't mind as long as Seagate will allow RMA. Will Seagate allow RMA if drive is functioning but has the click of death?

And, it's in warranty until 2012 so I think i should be set.
How does the RMA process go, I have only been through it once with Maxtor lol. Do I ship first then get RMA number or what?

sorry to revive an old thread but no sense in making a similar one, i have 2 seagate drives that are identical one of which has failed (the dreaded 500 GB firmware gave out after a power on/off cycle during a lightning storm)
long story short i have 2 questions
1) on their site the RMA process allows you to ship only one drive at a time, i dont want to pay shipping twice and dont mind getting both replaced at the same time, how can i do that ?
2) there is an option to pay 19.99 USD to get a 2 day secured shipping method for which they send you their approved packaging... i live in canada and shipping may be close to that anyway, anyone use this method is it worth it ? ( i dont mind waiting like a month either way though...)
thanks

Best bet is to call them.
They told me that I must ship each drive in a separate box. In the end, after getting a DOA from a RMA, I said screw it.
I bet for a few $$$ more, you can just buy a new drive, and not get back a refurbished unit that you may end up having to RMA yet again.
