their trying to put the screws to my daughter and I was hoping someone would know of a number to call and get this straightened out...I have seen people put numbers on here for that purpose (have done a search but haven't come up wih it yet)

if they are doing what I think they are doing...well....pretty low....won't know until I talk to someone at seagate....

thanks

jd

found a number 1 877 271 3285 a man that goes by the name of Ric helped me...told me if I don't get my rebate in 3 weeks to call him and he would "light another fire" very pleasant and wanted to help me out...

spent about 10 minutes on phone (he had to make changes and sent an email to the company to tell them to pay)

automated response...nothing but recordings...

my daughter purchased a 200 gb hard drive from outpost (it had 2 rebate forms to send in)

one coupon had you send in the original bar code and the other had you send in a copy of that code

I know she did it right because I did the same thing...

they sent her a postcard saying she was not in compliance...said she was missing the original bar code...BS...

we did this all on the same day and they didn't send me a card...I mailed hers and mine in the same day also...

Try online. I've done three outpost seagate rebates (one just submitted last week) and the first two came through faster than any other rebate I've done, although none of mine had two rebates. The squeeky wheel gets the oil when it comes to rebates...

I looked at my rebateshq.com rebate submissions and have done 36 through them totally just under $1000 :Q

Indeed. Rebate houses reject a large ammount of valid rebates as well in the hope that you can't provide proof.

Seagate has been doing this for a while. Just resubmit a copy of the UPC and they will take it.

I've had great luck with Seagate, something like 10/10 so far, I hope they straighten this out for you.

Segate blows... a while back I bought two 160GB drives from Fry's. Each one had a $50 rebate. I sent them both in, and only one was valid... even though they were postmarked on the same day, which was the last day they could be postmarked. Retards...

you used different addresses for each one right? usually they write "only one offer per household" on the rebate form.

yes..different households....I have been involved in 7 rebates with seagate and up until now have had no problem...what really makes them look bad is the fact that they were submitted on the same day from the same town and both hers and mine were prepared alike...she is married and used her husbands name...I want to ask someone (tell them I am speaking for her) if she didn't submit the bar code, what the hell did she submit...

Is your daughter in the same household as you? Did you fill out a rebate for the same item? On their rebates, isn't there usually a 1 item per household limit?
EDit: NM, you addressed the question

no, this is just seagate's rebates clearinghouse's way of keeping your money. you didn't make the mistake, rather, they are trying to commit fraud.

well i finally found a number that i could talk to a person but she couldn't help me due to the fact that I was not in her "rebate center area"...she was from New York and mine was from Texas...she was polite but ended up politely cutting me off...

will continue to look for a number...

thanks everyone for input...
