Seagate OEM HDD Warranty?

Tried searching for this here, but nothing came back. Are the OEM Seagate drives you get from newegg and such with a 5 year warranty?

I checked the site and found this. Didn't say anything about OEM versions.

The warranty period is 5 years for internal hard drives purchased anywhere worldwide (i.e., products requiring incorporation within the chassis of a computer - normally labelled "Internal Hard Drive Upgrade Kit"). For all other products purchased in a European Union Member State, the warranty period is 2 years. Otherwise, the warranty period is 1 year.

Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like OEM versus retail doesn't matter, as long as you're not expecting a box and cables, etc. All I care about is the warranty.

The two 320gb OEM drives I bought from Newegg back in August have 5 years.

If you're looking to get the 500gb drive for $140 at newegg, I'm pretty sure that they carry a 5 year warranty.

I had to email Seagate a scan of my HDs label and the UPC from the box because I looked up the S/N on their website and it came back as being sold to a manufacturer and it was not under their warranty. I got the drive from Frys and the box and HD models did not match even tho it was brand new and sealed. Anyway, Seagate took the info I sent them and changed the status to 5yr warranty. Seagate rocks!
