PM with Staples for an even better deal.

The drive is $169 at Staples and with a 110% price match, the drive comes down to $115. Secondly, there's an Officemax 10 off 20 coupon over at SD and Staples will accept local competitor coupons for items.

It's certainly YMMV, but the manager at the local Staples said there's no issue with that.

I got mine for I think $115-125, I don't remember where when or exactly how much... But $.25/gb is a great deal, especially for a drive that has a 5 year warranty.

The drive inside is SATA, but you will probably break the case if you try to get it out. Just an FYI since I'm not sure if the drive itself is covered by a warranty if it was removed.

I've been holding off getting this but that enclosure is a bit weird. I read that the bottom part (that stand thing) is non-removeable? Is that true?

yup, vertical only, but it works fine and pretty cool. spins down after a while too.

buffalo has interesting turbo usb thing, still need benchmarks but it might now match firewire which is ncie.

might be nice if the price is the same...
