I have a seagate Central Network accessible drive that has lost its network connectivity.

I have no link lights at the NIC, and repeated tries to link to to both my switch and the main router fail. I also tried direct connecting to my PC, but, with no link lights, I'm supposing that I have a hardware failure.

Any options before I just tear it down to mine and replacing it? What are recommentations for low priced network storage?

Should i hook something Directly into my Router with USB or continue to use an Ethernet accessible drive?

Thanks,

I've been looking at the QNAP TVS-951X, check it out, it's around $699 right now @ Newegg.

Thanks. Given my lack of tinkering time, I opted for a pre Fab WD 2 Bay option. Fast enough transfer speeds and Plex in board should satisfy short to medium term needs. If I find it can't keep up I'll build something when extensible memory.
