Yes, you can. But your G4 will only communicate with the drive at ATA-66 speed, not the full ATA-100.
Nice drive for a nice price. Personally I would just go with a Maxtor or something: Seagate makes excellent drives, but they aren't breaking any speed barriers with this one.
