Seagate ATA II Drive on an Ultra DMA/33 BX6 Mobo

I'm attempting to put a new Seagate Barracuda 30GB ATA II drive on an old Abit BX6 MB. The mobo is Ultra DMA/33, and won't recognize the drive. Is the mobo incapable of communicating with the new device, or do I perhaps need one of those fancy newer IDE cables?

Thanks for any help 🙂

There were certain AWARD 4.51PG BIOSes that had trouble with ATA drives. Either obtain a BIOS update for your BX6, or get the Configuration Utility for your Seagate drive to set the drive to ATA33 mode.
