I'm thinking of using my 40 gig Seagate 7200 rpm ide 2mb hdd, instead of my current 160 Seagate sata 7200 8mb hdd. Will there be a noticeable decrease in performance operation, gaming, internet, etc... Reference my sig for more info.
Is this just a lame idea and what partitions might you use with this combo+drive array.

It will be slower. Maybe not for just web browsing, but yes in terms of loading game levels and anything that uses the disk a lot.

So what should I do with the slow one?

I would pop it into an external and use it for backup.
