Seagate 5GB CF II @ Geeks - 104 + ship

damn..5gb! I have trouble filling my 512.

You wouldn't with 16MP RAW files 😉 but most pros shoot with flash anyway.

This says refurb, I'd be scared to trust important pics to it, but a good price.

I'm not too happy right now, I got in on one of these and it works fine on my computer in the sandisk CF reader but gives me me CF errors in my Digital Rebel XT. Anyone know why? Yes I formatted it in Windows for FAT32 and no it won't even let me do it in camera. I guess this will have to go back unless anyone knows why its happening 🙁

The Rebel probably can't read FAT32.

That's what I was thinking as well. Do they have updates that you can download for the Rebel? I just ordered a 20d last night and have heard some brands of cards don't work in it but you can update it so they will work.

I have just a couple of hours ago made an online order for a seagate 5GB ,and schedueled a pickup at the Circuit City store next to my place went there after 1 hour and a half and got my seagate. The 5GB seagate at CircuitCity for $ 106.75 total, get em while they are hot 😀

EDIT : I thought you guys were talking about that circular pocket USB drive, but hey it has that same drive in there, so I guess this counts 😉

Its listed as compatible on their website and its been listed as compatible with FAT32 every other website i've seen.

Make sure your PDA has an eject button before stuffing it in there... the older axim's don't and you won't be able to get it back out!

these are not working with X50v,X51v..unless you get some magic fw on them

buyer beware...this is with website saying it will work from Seagate

I just bought the Hitachi 4GB at Bestbuy. It's on sale for $149.99. I used the 10% off Coupon, which bought it to 134.99 and it comes with a $50 Bestbuy rebate which takes it to 84.99. The Seagate looks like a great deal, but with the apparent compatibility problems I didn't want to risk it. The Hitachi works perfectly in my Canon XT and the card is formatted FAT32. GP

edit: and I didn't mean to thread crap. I would buy the Seagate if compatibility wasn't an issue.
