I bought one of these about 2 months ago for almost $300. Great drive even at that price. I just jumped on this one as well, since I am starting to build a new computer.

i may just have to buy an intel ss4000e entry raid5 nas
and 4 of these

that makes the total cost of a 2TB or 1.5TB RAID 5 NAS = $1400 🙁

Price is $309 now T_T. I need a new SATA drive to replace my ****** Western Digital Caviar 250gb SATA 3.0 8mb... which has a huge defect rate for hard drives, methinks, looking at the Newegg reviews.

This deal is hot and distinguished from the other 500GB hDD posts from outpost that we've seen lately. Those were all either IDE or 7200.8 and as one mentioned there was a maxtor.

7200.9 + 16mb cache + sata 300= $189.99 free shipping equals HOT DEAL

PROPS TO THE OP, thanks, will probably order if the chain of right events happen to me...=P

today is probably the last day you can use the 10% MSRP rebate (about 32-34 dollars back for these 500GB models... depending on model)

the 10% off (last day is today the 30th) makes this hot to me, since they have them instore also, the 7200.9 are slow, but make great movie/mp3 storage drives IMO

Just got one. 10% off RETAIL makes this even hotter - so you get it for less than $160 after all is said and done.
