$91.15 (after tax) for Californians. 28.5 cents/GB. If we wait patiently enough maybe Fry's will sell the retail version for this price.

arent coupon codes not allowed? or is that dell codes only

coupon codes are allowed since they are available for anyone. If you check the newegg sticky, the mod even posts the fx-55 $50 coupon code.

Son of a bitch, I just bought one for $96 shipped (Cali tax) on Monday. Maybe I should buy another one and do a raid 0.

FYI I called Newegg customer service today and they applied it to the order I placed last night, so $140 shipped for an A64 3400+ and the 320gb drive--not a bad start

Can't we get the discount on more than 1 drive... or do we have to place multiple orders?

Multiple orders, but it is free shipping, so more bang for your buck.

Just ran a test on this drive compared to a Seagate 200gb 7200 using HD tach.

Average Read Results:
200 gb: 39.3
320 gb: 45.3

Burst Results:
200 gb: 91.8 mb/s
320 gb: 251.7 mb/s

Anyone know if the perpendicular storage tech is compatibile with an Intel 875 chipset? I'm using an Asus P4C800 Deluxe mb (bought in 6/2003), and I don't know if this combination works. The board does accept SATA drives so I'd like to buy one of these since I'm using a 6 year old Seagate for the 'C' drive.

Horrible results. Those aren't even right.

7200.8s should be averaging 55ish and same wtih 7200.9s.

7200.10s should be hitting 65s.

Check SR Forums.

You won't utilize what the HDD has to offer... The hard drive is SATA2 (faster) and you have the older SATA1.

It will work but you won't get max performance

I'm from boston too!

You're worried about $3.20? lol

hey man... then why are people worried about calling up newegg and adding the $5 code? 😀

It's not exactly the same but 400GB for $99.99

for reference check out this thread

The one I received was a .10

Yep promo code dead for me as well, but considering this....

I wonder what my chances of getting a 7200.10 drive are as well?

I'll probably buy a 400GB or 500GB on Black Friday if they can be had for $.20 a GB. I passed on the 400GB Seagate for $99.99 shipped, a very good deal, simply because I don't really need one at the moment.
