Seagate 300GB Serial ATA/300 Hard Drive 16mb buffer $89

man i just bought a 200gb maxtor from there for $70...didnt open the actual bag with the drive in it but package is open...oh well.

7200.8 w/ 16mb cache I believe?

I bought 1 of these for black friday for 69.99, and another 1 in feb because Seagate refused to give me advance rma, so I had to backup my drive using this (of course I returned it later... gotta love Fry's return policies).

What type of return policy is it because I'd love to return a HD I bought earlier this week for this one...

there is a seagate 10% off MSRP rebate around that makes this 72 dollars (MSRP 180 dollars, therefore 18 dollar rebate)

well, yeah- but that rebate form, according to seagate rep, is one submission per household, not per drive/model/order.

The policy is basically a "we'll accept anything you want to return as long as its not fvcked up." I believe CPUs have a diff policy, but HDs.. LoL. You should see Fry's HD aisles sometimes. They're filled with returned drives. And those ECS motherboards? LAFfffff.

Bottom line is I returned 2 HDs at Fry's that I only used for temp backup simply becuase I couldnt get an advanced RMA.

I returned 2 LCD panels (Samsung 930B) simply because I didn't like how they looked.

No fee whatsoever. I don't get ppl who shop at Best Buy or Compusa or CC unless of course Fry's is too far away, or you're trying to do some pricematching slickdeal. Fry's is my solution for basically everything.

My 300gb order is listed as " in process", and I have an order number. I checked and I got an email order confirmation, so it looks like a go!!! To bad I couldn't buy more than one.

My ECS MB and AMD 3100+ ($89) are going strong on a seagate 160gb PATA ($49) with a dual-boot XP and FC4 linux (what great buys!!!)

Use to shop frys in Northern CA all the time, now it's Outpost (midwest).

Thanks OP.
