Seagate 300GB HD $99.99 AR w/free ship

This deal is regularly offered. I bought this for this price about 2 months ago. It's not a bad price, 33 cents a GB if you don't mind pata. I xmas gifted it to dad because I don't want any IDE cables in my box anymore.

my order got cancelled for no metioned reason..
I used a German credit card - could that be a problem?

I tried it again - it's cancelled again...

I get: Your CompUSA order (#WBXXXXX) has been successfully cancelled.

As if I cancelled it.. But I didn't! Want that hard drive!!!!!

Frequently this price or better at Outpost.com with just one rebate and no tax for most states (FYI).

Could I use the Seagate rebate forms with an outpost purchase?
Would not be so much more, because there's no tax..

You can upgrade the Tivo units (some units allow two drives, otherwise you can do a single drive)
I've upgraded two of them.

Not sure about the High-Def dvrs though. Would need to research those.

I went to my local Compusa today and picked up this drive.

The Seagate 300GB PATA 8MB rang up at 179.99, clerk told me it was the wrong SKU. I went back and got the SKU she referred to Seagate 300GB PATA 16MB. It rang up 159.99 and rebates printed out. All of the rebates stated SEAG 300GB INT ATA 16MB, so I would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't honor the rebates. The SKU listed also matches the 16MB version. I would assume the website just has the inappropriate cache size listed. I think this makes the deal a little bit better!

I just bought a 300GB Seagate SATA HDD on Newegg for 135$ shipped, I think is a better deal than 100 after rebates for a PATA drive.

I didn't know that you could actually upgrade hd's in a dvr unit?

I've upgraded two ReplayTV units. Very simple actually.
