Why? I have 2 of these, they work great and come with a 5 year warrenty. Just because you might have had a problem with one drive doesn't mean they suck.

hmm. probably wouldn't notice the extra .5 ms seek time....and i'm not sure you'd notice the 16 mb cache over the 8mb cache.....but isn't it supposed to be better to have less platters?

That's not quite right... where are you getting these specs? The 7200.9 at newegg is an 8MB cache. There are other differences, too.

7200.9 is just the latest model, but there are several different types of 7200.9, thus contributing to the overall confusion
