I think they only ship slow if you're a new customer. My first order I placed with Monarch, they took almost a week to ship... When I placed my drive order (as well as a new mobo), though, my order shipped out within 24 hrs.

Seagates are some of the quietest drives you can buy (at least for the consumer market)

I think the fluctuation in pricing that people are mentioning does indeed seem to indicate that they are out of stock. They are now posting the price that their distributors are telling them that it is going to cost for resupply.

Tiger direct has this hard drive for 109.99, NOT OEM, but you pay groudn shipping, of 5.99. Personally I think its worth the 1 extra dollar to be retail not OEM And Monarch freeship is 7-9 business days... I'm going to guess that UPS ground will be somewhat faster than that

Ordered one about 1.5 weeks back and got it within a week with the Monarch free shipping, which is pretty good considering it took a day or two to ship, I missed the first delivery, and I live far North of just about any major distribution area. It was $102 + free shipping at the time for the PATA version. Very nice drive, quiet, and 5 yr warranty is killer.
