The last time Dell screwed-up their online rebates for WD harddrives....

:D :D :D :D

Ya, you'd think otherwise. But then again, you only get these huge rebates on the retail drives. When's the last time you saw a big rebate on an OEM drive ?

Doesn't make sense for the retail units to have only 1 yr warranty and the OEM units 3 yrs...

Those were retail boxed hard drives ... I know 'cause I was in for two of those ;) Still cherishing the 400GB space I got for $22 x 2 :p

However, those were purchased on Sept 25-26, 2003 and got the 3 year warranty. WD reduced the warranty on retail 200GB drives from 3 to 1 year starting on Oct 01,2003 ... so we all got lucky ... extremely lucky :D

I wish i could find a deal on a WD 200G, I need another to complete my raid. please PM if you get one.

think raid0 would still be quick with a mismatched set? WD+Seagate? I've been waiting for the WD200 to drop below $150 for a long time...

About time the 200+ GB drives started selling for under <$.50/GB... Usually you only see the 120s at that price.

Where can I find Seagate 120GB 8mb cache drives for .50 a gig???? I'd like a second one for raid. Newegg has 'em for $98
Thanks,

BTW is it me, or is neweggs prices generally becoming less wonderful?

Are you talking about just hard drive prices or in general ? Newegg never really had very good prices on hard drives ... but most other prices do still seem a tad better than other places. Except may be for the WinTV 250 cards, which are FINALLY showing up for < $100 in other places ... :p

How do you get the Maxtor 250gb for $20 more? It's out of stock at OD and can't find it for $20 more for a 250gb at Staples. thanks
