seein as to how it expires on the 29th and it's the 25th now...does it mean that the rebate has to be postmarked by the 29th or be in to their office by the 29th? anyone know?

must be purchased between 3/23 and 3/29. rebate needs to be postmarked by 4/29. you have a month.

It looks to me like this rebate can be used on any drive with the same product number (ST3160023A-RK). Don't see any specification on the form that it has to be purchased from any specific retailer. So is it possible that I could buy from somewhere (such as Newegg) that doesn't charge tax in my state and still get the rebate, or is that a high risk proposition? Tax plus shipping from outpost would make it more expensive for me than getting it from newegg, and I prefer to deal with them when I can.

Any relevant thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, guess I answered my own question. I called them up, and although it doesn't say so anywhere on the form this rebate is for Outpost.com or Fry's Electronics purchases only.

Hmm...dilemma. I just recently purchased a 160GB maxtor at Staples for $69 OTD.

Should I return and get this drive instead? But then i'd have to wait for rebate. How it frys on rebates?

I'm dealing w/ the eefers right now. They said the rebate is for $40 and not $50.
Since threatening them, they now want to work with me--we'll see....

Man, I *hate* rebates!

Ugh. I just sent in my rebate for this drive yesterday. I hope they don't mess it up...

I bought this drive from FRY's about a month ago and just got my $50 rebate today. I was shocked at how fast it came and they even E-MAIL'd me when they received the rebate. Overall one of the best rebate experiences I've ever had. Maybe they have improved?

I think it's the best HD deal I've seen in the past couple weeks.
