Shortened referral link deleted Amazon has a 1 TB WD HD for $44 bucks. GO GO GO :)

Can't find any WD 1TB drive for $44. Found Seagate 1TB for $49.99. here. Says it's a Lightning Deal available for a limited time. If you click on view Lightning deal at right, then filter to electronics, then click the right arrow to go to the second set of products (now it shows on first set), it shows up as the 10:20AM PST deal for $44.99. Add to cart. Whew.

Changed title from WD to Seagate.

This deal started at 1:20PM EST so the OP was early. I just bought one for my WHS rebuild.

Filter the gold box deals to ELECTRONICS category and it should be on the second page.

Also this is a Segate drive.

If you go to amazon lightning deals, then select electronics category you will see it.. It's a Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM for $44.99

Came out to $50 for me somehow even with super saver shipping.... Still a good deal.

Damn. You know something is wrong with you when you start thinking 1TB is too small. :)

Yeah, not too bad of a price, but Seagate's 7200.11 was the generation of harddrives with the horrible habbit of bricking themselves due to faulty firmware (bricked HDD's couldn't be updated either...caused they were already bricked). Maybe someone else here knows if this particular model has the faulty firmware by default...

I've been wanting to buy a few harddrives lately for storage backup, but I think I'll wait for a good deal on another model.

As long as this thing backs up my data, does it relatively fast, and lasts for at elast two years, it's already worth it for me.
