I'm in the market for the 1.5tb seagate as well. Is there any sense in waiting till black Friday, or does anyone think the price won't get any better than the $150 at New Egg currently?

No sense in waiting till black friday.

This is the deal I got.

$150 + $7 shipping - 5% fatwallet cashback - 5% live cashback - $25 ebillme rebate = about $117 shipped. This deal is still valid I believe.

You can't beat 1500 gigs for $117, that is 7.8 cents per gig.

And it will not be any lower black friday than that i'm pretty sure. 😀

There's the 2 hitachi 1 TB drives for $152 deal, which comes out to 7.6 cents per gig, but you'll have to use up 2 bays for that and it's older technology. Hitachis are the first gen 1 TB drives. If you don't mind using up 2 bays, but getting more space and a slower drive at a cheaper price, go for it.

Okay i just found an RE3 drive... in one single shop 🙂
It goes for about 300$, while the Samsung and the Seagate are half the price.

It is more expensive, and when i factor in the fact i'll be getting at least 6 of those... Do you think that when taking the price into consideration, is it worth getting the RE3?

I have given up on 1.5Tb, since i've heard a few people from here have bought it, and it failed on them... only a couple of shops have it, so i'm guessing a bad batch...

@Lightning, Black Friday refers to the day after Thanksgiving, when many businesses start the Christmas shopping season with deep discounts on a few items to get people into the stores.

@d3vil, thanks for the info, I will look into that. I know how to do the live discount, but how do you do fatwallet and ebillme?

OK 🙂 i was just curious.. i didn't know its so important it has its on category 😀

We don't have that so.
Anyways, a shame about the 1.5TB drive... it seemed so good from a price point of view.
