SDR RAM vs. DDR on with an XP1800+ rig?

I've got an MSI K7T Turbo with a 1GHz thunderbird + 512 133mhz cas2 RAM. I'd like to extend the life of this rig by throwing in an XP 1800+ cpu and a GeForce4 Ti4200 this summer. The only thing I'm worried about is the lack of DDR RAM support on my motherboard. Should I still plan on this upgrade route? I hope my performance wouldn't be affected too greatly.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It's not your neutering it by not adding DDR...but still, I would upgrade my mobo.

As you already have quie an investment in 512 SDRAM, I say keep it and get a faster chip. You won't see a justification in upgrading the mobo and throwing all that away....might as well fedex it to me😉

I wouldn't worry about not having DDR. Athlons still run fast with SDR. It's not nearly as bad of a performance blow as a P4 with SDR.
