I recently bought this fine looking lcd but i'm disppointed in it. I got rid of my G500 Trinatron because of the annoying aperture grills line. Guess what? Their back with the lcd also. It's on the left side of the monitor. Only one line this time . 1/4 way from the left. One other thing is the refresh rate. On the spec, it said it can do 1280x1024 at 85Hz but the max windows would let me do is 75Hz. Is there anything I can do to make it run at 85Hz?

I'm not sure that I would say this is on topic. <shrug> But sometimes I think we nitpick too much on this forum. :)

LCD's shouldn't have aperature grille wires - obviously. I've used a couple of LCD's and I can't recall ever seeing anything like this. As far as the refresh rate thign, is the refresh rate limited by the card? What's the max res/refresh that that your card can drive?

i don't know what the line is call but there's a line running down the screen like the aperture grill monitor. As for the refresh rate, i have a Geforce2 Ultra so it's no problem. I even call SONY to verify about the line.

refresh rate doesn't matter... LCDs don't flicker anyway. so as long as you have a little over 60hz, your framerate in games will be fine and there won't be flicker

i want 85hz so i can get 85 frame per second at 1280x1024. I know the screen don't flicker. i just want high frame rate. after all, sony advertised 1280x1024 at 85hz. So i should be able to achieve that
